August Birthstone: Peridot

It is the month of August and all the Leos and Virgos who are celebrating their birthdays this month have a beautiful birthstone called peridot (pronunciation rhymes with “dough” J). A vibrant lime green color, peridot is an olivine gemstone known for its healing powers and ability to bring peace, happiness and good luck to its wearer. Under moonlight, peridots have a mellow glow and were therefore dug up at night in ancient Egypt, which also earned them the name “evening emerald.”
